News ... Monthly Focus
Each month we will focus on a local project using new and innovative products and ideas ..
This month we are focusing on our installation of the 'Virtual Shop' system at Llandrillo College Rhyl.
Llandrillo
College got in touch with us as they were looking to install
a 'Virual Shop' learning environment in one of their classrooms at the college.
It is part of the Rhyl City Strategy Project to improve skills and employment
in the Rhyl area.
Here is recent newspaper article from the local Journal newspaper giving details about the Virtual Shop and what the college hopes it will bring to the local community & it's residents.
The purpose of the Virtual Shop is to help train and prepare students for
the busy and exciting world of reatil, leisure & hospitality.
In today's world it is no longer just a case of being able to ring items into a till, there is so much more to it.
Many cash registers are now linked into a whole network of back office software, loyalty software, and stock control. A whole business can now be run through the 'tills'. So as you can see there is a lot more to it than 'here's your change'!
Students
will benifit from the training experience that a vitual shop can offer.
They will be able to take daily reports, keep track of products and prices.
Replenish stocks and look at their best selling lines.
The classroom based shop contains a checkout with built in scanner, touch screen Epos system, chip & pin machine, cash register complete with hand scanner & weighing scales linked, back office & loyalty software, together with an aisle and shop shelving. (All details of these products can be found on our website.)
Everybody involved in the project sees this as a fantastic opportunity for equipping people with up to date skills for employment in the rapidly growing reatil & hospitality sector. For details on courses please click on the Llandrillo College link at the top of the page.
